31.08.2010:

Rowan Companies, Inc. has approved the acquisition of Skeie Drilling and Production (SKDP), and thereby also Skeie Rig Management AS.
 
The combination of SKDP and Rowan is a natural fit. Both companies own and operate jack-up drilling rigs that are capable of working in the world’s most challenging environments. With the SKDP N-Class rigs and SKDP personnel onboard along with Rowan’s long history of operational excellence, the combined company looks to only enhance their competitive advantage.

For those applying for a job this will have no practical consequences as it is still the ambition to have all three rigs operating in Norwegian waters. In addition the name of the company is likely to change. The onshore organisation here in Norway will remain the same. We are currently in detailed discussions with several clients and hope to conclude soon. Recruitment is already ongoing to ensure proper finalization of the rigs in Singapore, but the mass recruitment scheduled for September will be adjusted.
