Never worked offshore before?

We are receiving many requests from unexperienced applicants regarding qualification requirements for working offshore. Skeie Rig Management is following the guidelines from OLF, and uses these guidelines as a basis for all recruitment. To read more about the qualification requirements, please follow the link below.

If you have no experience from the offshore industry, but are holding a relevant craft certificate, the position Roustabout can be of your interest. Please see below for information about the position Roustabout / 'Hjelpearbeider'.

The Roustabout must be minimum 19 years old and hold a relevant craft certificate on mechanical disciplines, chemical/process disciplines, as per OLF guidelines’ competency requirements. For Roustabouts working on the drill floor (as per OLF Guidelines’ competence requirements):

-Relevant craft certificate in drilling and well service disciplines

-Alternatively, relevant craft certificate on mechanical disciplines, chemical/process disciplines, as well as a government-approved exam for private candidates in Advanced Course 2 (VG2) – Well engineering

-Or five years of relevant experience within the above-mentioned disciplines, and completed exam for private candidates in Advanced Course 2 (VG2) Well Engineering

It is desirable with basic safety training, banks man and slinger course, heliguard course and a forklift certificate.

Recruitment status:

Recruitment of personnel to the former Skeie (now Rowan) units is being postponed. Rig no. 1 (Rowan Viking) will be operating in UK waters for 19 months. Rig no. 2 (Rowan Stavanger) will operate in UK from 1st May to 1st November, after which it is very likely to move to Norway for operations there. Hence there will be no mass recruitment until later in 2011. See news letters below for updates. Such letters will be sent to our existing applicants for updates.
